Warning: Website for 'LegalLens Law Firm' claiming to be a law firm

The website at 'www.legallenslaw.uk' is operating and claiming to be a law firm.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that a website at 'www.legallenslaw.uk' is operating and falsely claiming to be a law firm called 'LegalLens Law Firm'. The website also falsely displays a supposed SRA digital badge.

The website provides a contact email address of 'info@legallenslaw.uk', the telephone number of '+1 (415) 878 7078' and the address of 'E8 3DQ, Greater London'.

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm of solicitors called 'LegalLens Law Firm'.

The website provides profile images of various individuals including the following individuals who are not authorised or regulated by the SRA:

  • 'Edward B. Owens'
  • 'Iddris Hussain'
  • 'Ella Wilkinson'
  • 'Mike Ross'
  • 'Eddie Owen'
  • 'Olivia Whitte' or 'Olivia Whites'
  • 'Patrick Moody'
  • 'Henry Wilson'
  • 'John Stones'
  • 'Frank Miller'
  • 'Anthony Taylor'
  • 'Mason Robertson'
  • 'Sophia Walker'

The website provides purported email addresses for the above named individuals. Each email address ends with the domain '@legallenslaw.uk'.

Any business or transactions through the website, telephone number or email addresses set out above are not undertaken by a firm of solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
